3D Floor Plans

Instead of using 2D black and white floor plans, Blue Cube Studios show the floor plans in 3D, with full colour and furniture shown. 3D Floor Plans show the entire floor layout of a building, with the ceiling taken off or cut away. Furniture is usually shown, as this gives the 3D floor plans more context.

Apart from being a lot more interesting to look at, 3D floor plans give an immediate appreciation of the space within a building, and how each room or space relates to one another. When potential purchasers look at 3d floor plans, they can easily see an understand the layout of the property and they can see what they’re buying into.

Blue Cube Studios have developed a unique style and working practices to produce 3d floor plans efficiently and to a very high standard. Furniture styles and colours are carefully selected, which show the proposed layout of a property without making it look cluttered or too confusing as other 3d floor plans do.

3d floor plans are created by using the 2d CAD drawings, normally supplied by the architect, and creating a 3d model of the walls and floor. Doors and windows are then cut into these walls, inserting them at the correct heights and matching the style of the windows to the elevation drawings. Kitchens and bathrooms can be shown by using the 2d floor plans supplied as a guide, which generally show the layout, and then Blue Cube can create the fittings and fixtures as appropriate, matching the style to what has been specified by the developer. If no specification exists, then we can show generic fittings. The last thing to do is add the furniture. This is done very carefully and sparingly. The idea is to have as much furniture as needed to show the space and give the floor plans a feeling of scale, but not too much furniture that the 3d floor plans feel full and cluttered.
